Suffern, New York – Approximately 500 women came together at the annual Girls' Night Out event in support of the Center for Breast Health at Good Samaritan Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth).
The event, held at the Hilton Pearl River, included a fashion show featuring models who are patients at the Center for Breast Health, as well as a shopping suite, dinner, raffles and more. Dr. Karen Karsif, MD, Medical Director of the Center for Breast Health, shared important health information with the crowd about how to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy.
"Girls' Night Out celebrates our community, raises important funds for the Center for Breast Health, provides essential breast health education and is an all-around great night for everyone who attends," said Dr. Karsif.
Close to $55,000 was raised and the proceeds will help the hospital further invest in state-of-the-art facilities and innovative services for breast cancer patients.
New Technologies Improve Breast Cancer Treatment Options
The Center for Breast Health at Good Samaritan Hospital provides women from Rockland and Orange Counties and nearby areas expert care, from initial consultation through diagnosis and aftercare. The Center offers advanced screening and diagnostic tools including: 3D mammography, a High-Risk Breast Cancer Screening Program and genetic counseling.
The Center provides advanced surgical techniques including the use of the MarginProbe® technology, which uses electromagnetic waves to detect lingering cancer cells during breast surgery and AirXpanders AeroForm®, which prepares patients for reconstructive surgery after breast cancer more quickly and with less pain.
