Thomas L. Facelle, MD, FACS, has served as the director of surgery at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center since 2008. He was appointed chief of trauma services in 1995 and has served as co-chair of the cancer committee.

Dr. Facelle completed his surgical training at New York Hospital–Cornell Medical Center in 1984. He then served on active duty as a major in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps from 1984-1987. While in the Air Force, he received two commendation medals and was the recipient of the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship.

He joined Ramapo Valley Surgical Associates in 1987 and was appointed Clinical Instructor of Surgery for New York Medical College. He has pursued extensive laparoscopic training at facilities in Cincinnati, Maryland, New Jersey and Connecticut; and advanced hernia training in Miami.

In 1990 Dr. Facelle was the first surgeon in Rockland County to perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy. He currently performs a wide variety of surgical procedures including hernias, breast, gallbladder, intestinal, thyroid, skin, abdominal and vascular access.

Dr. Facelle has been selected for several Best Surgeon designations in periodicals and the Castle Connolly Guide.

As a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Facelle brings an extraordinary wealth of expertise and care to both his patients and Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
